Okay, the title may be kinda sad or what, but for some people, it's really a nightmare. Because of the storm, they have no shelter, food, water and their things were washed away by the tremendous flood brought by the storm , "Ondoy"
Day 1: Saturday
It was a dark morning, and it started to rain at around 7:30 a.m or earlier. Mom went off to work, Dad has a Badminton tournament and Sherine has to go to CEU because she has classes. The rain was non-stop, it was dark outside. We were having lunch then suddenly it was a black-out. At around 3:00 p.m Ate Inday (one of our helper) has to buy some milk for her baby, so she needs to buy some outside. She came back after 30 minutes or so, but she didn't reach the grocery store. She said that the flood was really high, and the current was too strong. I went outside and I saw the level of this muddy flood, and it was rising fast, (whew). We tried to call mom and dad and Sherine, but we can't contact them. Our neighbor said that at the next block, snakes were coming out, and so is at Crocus Street. The flood went up to our garage, then meanwhile, half of the car's tire. The basement was the first room that the water entered, then next was the guest room, where Josh (yssa's husband), Yssa and their Luis (their baby) was staying. We have to evacuate the appliances, and other things such as clothes, carpets, the crib, boxes etc. and transfer them upstairs, on the dining table, just so the water can't reach them. The water went inside our Sala already, straight to the kitchen, and the water in the basement reached up to our waists. All phone were out of charge, and my phone was the only one that has battery. We have no updates at all, of what was going on around Rizal. Ate Rose (our helper) has to prepare our dinner, it was around 7:00 p.m. I have to take bath that time, because it was really a busy day for us, and I know, there will be more (hehe). Our dad called us, and asking what is going on here, and how are we...the house, their stuff etc. He said, they're stuck at Greenland, Floodway and they can't move, and the flood was high, the car can't take it. The rain stopped for awhile, and it was a silent night. We tried to rest for the night. I woke up at around 3:00 a.m and I saw my sister awake too (I was just shocked because we were both up), I transfered to my parent's room, because I was feeling itchy while sleeping at the Sofa (because there were nowhere else I can sleep).
Day 2: Sunday
Still no electricity, I woke up and saw Ate Rose cleaning the house already. I immediately helped her because she was doing it alone, and I don't think she can take it (lol). I went outside and the flood already subsided a little. I went up the terrace with Ate Inday, and I saw my dad walking across the flood, I said "Ha?! Hindi si Daddy yan, tingnan mo nga itsura, haha" I really didn't believe it because 1st, i can't see him clearly, and 2nd, it didn't look like my dad.(HAHA). But, of course, it was him. He told us his story, and we told ours. He changed his clothes, and started cleaning up. Meanwhile, he picked up mom and the car. Now, we're really worried about my sister, Sherine. She said to us that she will stay at her classmate's dorm, but unfortunately, her classmate has to go home to Bulacan, so she has no where to go now. She wants to go home but we said, she still can't because the roads are still blocked, and the floods was still high. Later on, we called her, she said, she's staying in Gelo's house. So my mom and dad decided to pick her up, so she can go home already and it's more safe. I slept early that night, because I was tired too. I just woke up then my sister was sleeping beside me, and we were complete as a family again.
It was really a hard time for us, because it's our first time to encounter or experience these. But in the bright side, we were still lucky because other towns, houses, villages, and people is experiencing alot more than what we have now. We were really shocked and thinking, why this happened, for more than 8 years of staying here at this house, it was the first time. Now we feel what the people that experienced this before. We were still fortunate for this incident.
Here is my side of story and my experience from the storm that just affected many people in Rizal...
